[00:00:00] Alright, welcome back to the Survival and Basic Badass Podcast. Kevin and Chuck. Something. Anyway, so today we're going to talk about prepping on a budget. Now if this is something that interests you and you want to learn more about prepping,
[00:00:30] make sure you like and subscribe because we're going to do great things. And we can definitely help get you there and give you a lot of tricks that'll keep the budget a little friendly. Now whenever people think about a budget, they think about really scraping.
[00:00:46] People are like, oh I'm going to have to give up that glass of wine or now I'm going to have to use both sides of the toilet paper. You know, both sides of the sheet there. It's not that dramatic.
[00:01:00] It's just when people think about prepping, they think about a lot of gear and gadgets and I need a life straw and I need a, you know, all the different things out there that are fancy.
[00:01:13] The best, you know, I need a thousand dollar knife or I need, you know, the best sleeping bag that's sub zero and can fit into, you know, my front pocket. Well, yeah, that'd be cool. But these things aren't really what's important.
[00:01:28] They're not the core of prepping and they're not the core of what's going to keep you alive or what's essential. Yeah. And the truth is prepping is actually very inexpensive. You can make it as expensive as you want. You know, you can go as crazy as you want.
[00:01:43] Like gear is fine. I mean, everybody likes gear, but it turns out you don't need gear. Right. Right. I mean, what you really need is water and rice and beans and that's all cheap stuff. All cheap stuff. And lasts a long time.
[00:01:56] You can store your water, you can store your rice, your beans, dried out beans. All this stuff is really inexpensive and it's got a lot of calories and it'll keep you alive for a long time.
[00:02:07] Where things get a little bit weird though is, you know, when you start being concerned about the food you're eating, nobody wants to eat rice and beans every meal for two months straight. And that's why you buy the hot sauce. That's why you buy the hot sauce.
[00:02:21] And these are the tricks we're going to talk about today. Being poor, it puts you in a higher risk area when crisis has happened. You know, Jeff Bezos is going to fly out to Hawaii and live in his underground bunker and
[00:02:36] he's not going to give a fuck about you. And he's got the blue roof. Yeah, you're going to be stuck with FEMA. You don't want to be in that situation though, in a shit hit fan situation.
[00:02:50] So let's talk about some ways you can save some money and get the stuff that you need and not break your back while you're doing it. All right. So, I don't know. I know one of the big things I love is Walmart sells like the bulk pancake mix.
[00:03:08] People think, oh, I want to do the emergency long-term food storage. And you look at it and you're like, ooh, you get 20,000 calories and however many meals that is, right? 2,000, 10 days worth of food, right? 2,000 calories a day.
[00:03:26] And if you're really going to get by on 2,000 calories a day, that might cost you 250, 300 bucks for that 20,000 calories. Or you can go to Walmart, spend 10 bucks and get 20,000 calories of pancake mix for about 20 bucks. Yeah, that's right.
[00:03:47] Now if you have chickens, pancakes and eggs, man, that's a great breakfast and you're all set. But there's a lot of stuff that you can save a lot of money by buying it in bulk. Rice and beans like we just talked about, pancake mix.
[00:04:03] But there's a ton of other stuff in. Sometimes it's even worth going in with family members, buying bulk stuff with other people and splitting it up. Another great way to save some money is focus on learning new skills. And that's really for everybody, I mean, to be honest.
[00:04:26] Having knowledge and knowing what you're doing is going to be 1,000 times more beneficial than having a bunch of crap. You know, it's funny, one of the medical courses that I'd taken years back, they were like,
[00:04:40] oh, you know, guys show up with this huge bag, you know, oh, I bought a paramedic bag off Amazon for 200, I didn't, I'm just saying, 250 bucks and it has all this cool gear. Well, yeah, that's great. But the guy's like, look, go through it.
[00:04:55] Every single thing in there you don't know how to use shouldn't be in that bag. Right, it's just the way. So that's one more thing that gets in your way when you're trying to find it.
[00:05:03] Well, turns out it's the same thing with your get home bag, your bug out bag, your prepping surprise in your house. Anything that you don't really understand or actually use, one of the big things, when you go camping, people buy all this bougie, fancy stuff.
[00:05:21] Oh, I saw that, it'd be great. That'd make my life cool. But then when you do it, you get it and you actually realize, you know what? I didn't use half of this and I had to hike it in and it was a waste of my time.
[00:05:35] And it turns out, like you don't need fancy, you know, you can buy the Boy Scout mess kit and it's going to work for that. But that's not even really what you need.
[00:05:46] You know, first you need to decide, are you the guy that, you know, is going to kind of hunker down in your house or are you the guy that is going to bug out to somewhere crazy?
[00:05:57] Now, if I'm on a budget, maybe I can have, or I don't have the budget for a good firearm. But to be honest, for about $199 would probably be the most you'd have to spend to buy a decent shotgun and about $20 you could buy some ammo.
[00:06:15] That's all you need, right? It's the minimum. Obviously there's a million better things you could have. Yeah, there's a lot. I'd want a rifle too. Yeah, that would be better. But if that's not what you can afford, then what you do, you know?
[00:06:30] But the thing is, you don't even, maybe $200, that's ridiculous Chuck. I don't even have that much. That's okay. You don't need that. You know, maybe you buy a decent knife that you can get for $5. Turns out you can get cool knives for $5.
[00:06:45] They're not going to be the $200 knife, but it's a knife. Maybe you can pay attention a little bit more. Maybe you set up your property just by moving things around, maybe trimming the bushes out
[00:06:59] front and make it a little bit better to protect it where you're aware that bad things are coming. And these are the steps we're talking about. We're talking about, you know, within your budget, you need to find a way to get there.
[00:07:16] And none of that fancy stuff matters. You need to find a way. How am I going to keep warm? Right? If the power goes out, if, you know, I can't get things, how am I going to heat my house?
[00:07:29] Now yeah, it'd be cool if you could set up a fireplace, a wood stove, all this stuff. But that can be expensive. But that can be expensive. Now, I mean, there's middle of the road budgets like, Hey, can I get one of those burn barrel,
[00:07:44] you know, kind of wood stove things that I could set up and run the chimney out my window and set something up for that. I bet if you watch YouTube, you could figure it out with like a $10 burn barrel. Right? I mean, there are ways to do it.
[00:07:57] And that's the thing right now, the internet is free. The library is free, right? You can go to the library, get a Boy Scout handbook. I bet you, if they don't have one in your library, I bet your library could order it
[00:08:11] from another one and get it there. And all the information you need to know is there. Now YouTube turns out you can go watch YouTube at the library too, is my guess. I don't know.
[00:08:23] I've, but you can, right now, to be honest, we all know almost everybody has access to a phone of some sort that you could be watching your YouTube and training videos. If you're watching the show, you're for everything you got here. Right.
[00:08:39] And you know, again, you work within your budget, but learning is so much more. And the thing is you need to say, all right, how am I going to find a way to stay warm? That should be your number one priority. You know, they say shelter, right?
[00:08:52] Is your number one thing staying warm or staying cool when it's stupid hot, but usually stupid hot isn't going to kill you. Stupid cold might kill you. So that's why we always kind of focus on fire building instead of, you know, working out a fan, right.
[00:09:08] To, you know, cool off a little bit. But now how about water? Right. Water is huge. Can I filter water? You know, maybe I don't need to buy a fancy water setup. Maybe I can learn how to filter water.
[00:09:24] And maybe you could just fill up some jugs out of your tap and stick them in the basement. So when the sink doesn't come on, you've already got some. That's almost free. All you have to do is find some containers, you know?
[00:09:36] And it turns out you can get containers. You don't even really have to pay for those. So that's something to think about. Again, recycling, you know, it used to be the big thing. Everybody had the two liter soda bottles, right? Yeah.
[00:09:49] I understand people don't really use those anymore. You don't find them like you used to. You know, are you buying... Whatever you're drinking beverages in in your house, unless it's coming out of the tap, those containers can probably be reused. Right. If it's food grade, it's food grade.
[00:10:08] So the other thing that I think that a lot of people cheap out on that they shouldn't be is batteries. Not getting cheap batteries, but I mean not having the batteries you need, you know? Your remote stops working. You can't change your TV.
[00:10:25] You have to actually get up off your fat ass and go change the channel. I don't want to live in that world. You don't want to live like that. You should have a box.
[00:10:34] You should have a place where you keep your batteries and you could just swap them out because when you get your flashlights out, when the power goes out and you haven't used the flashlight for six months, it's not going to work.
[00:10:44] You're going to have to replace the batteries. And I tell you, a flashlight is a lot better than walking around with a candle. So batteries, you have to be conscientious of what you're buying in the sense that you know what batteries you're going to need. Right.
[00:11:01] The right types. Double A's, triple A's, single A's, whatever A's they have. My big thing, one of those A's, right? So the big thing with that, I love the Amazon Prime batteries. They come, they seem to work as good as the Energizer stuff. Actually I looked into it.
[00:11:14] They're actually the best value energy hour wise for your dollar. And it seems right to me because I know I used to be hell bent on, has to be Energizer. And then whatever, and I would store them.
[00:11:27] And I was going through a rotation where I'd buy the 48 battery pack, like Sam's Club or something of Energizers. And they'd say 12 year shelf life, said right on, big thing. And I threw it in the sea bag and I would use it till I wouldn't throw them.
[00:11:42] And it would take me two years to get through all those batteries. But then I would buy another one and I'd rotate it through. Well, that worked like two times. And then the third time I went to go grab them, they're all green and not working.
[00:11:55] Am I coming out? And this is in an unopened package. And I'm like, come on. But Amazon, you can buy them in a reasonable amount. You can buy those Prime batteries or whatever they are. And it's awesome and it works. And that's the thing. You need to think.
[00:12:12] But knowledge is really the key. And that's where you need to focus your energy. By being organized and storing, that's where you're going to win out and beat the other guy. Because guess what? You actually filling your 15, 20, 30 gallons of water and setting it aside in a safe place,
[00:12:32] that's going to be ahead of the guy who doesn't bother to do anything. You learn in the filter or gather rainwater, you're going to be ahead of the guy. Yeah, I see a lot of that sort of stuff. People get real weird about water. They get real specific.
[00:12:48] You know, the high pH water, the smart water and the Fiji water and spring water versus filtered water and what kind of filters. Water is water. And if it's coming out of the sink, it's safe. They have to go through all sorts of stuff.
[00:13:06] You're not going to know better than the guy that's making your meals for water. I can't say it on YouTube. Oh, is that against the rules? Geez! The government's using that to control your mind. I mean, that's the word on the street anyway.
[00:13:21] Don't worry, you're going to edit that out. But I mean, you know, the fact of the matter is that the stuff you're getting out of bottled water is no better than the stuff that's coming out of your tap. Just don't be weird about it.
[00:13:41] Another good way to save money is planning your meals in advance. And now, that doesn't just mean the meals that you're going to be eating after you can't get to the grocery store and you've got to get into your stores. But I mean, day-to-day weekly meals.
[00:13:55] You have those meals planned out for this specific day. That doesn't mean you're going to get home, get confused, tired after a day of work and just order pizza. You know, that's the sort of stuff that's going to save you money.
[00:14:06] By the way, if you're buying any of these preps with a credit card, don't. Don't do that. Just don't use a credit card. Yeah, you already made a mistake at that point. You'd be better off not having preps and not having debt than, you know, buying a bunch
[00:14:20] of shit that you don't need and then paying interest on it for the next 20 years. My biggest expense that I've seen as I've been a prepper is buying shit because it looks like something that I probably need and then getting home and realizing I already have
[00:14:38] four of them. You know, I have way too much shit of the same stuff that I'm never going to be able to get a chance to get it all the way through. And it's really easy to waste your money buying stuff that you don't need.
[00:14:51] You know, how many camp stoves do I have? A lot more than I need. You know, I can say that. How many pocket knives do I have? Way more than I'm ever going to use. But I have a problem.
[00:15:01] I go out and I see a cool pocket knife and I'm like, oh, I'm going to get that. But I mean... How many AR-15s do you need? How many do you need, Chuck? I don't know. I don't know. That one doesn't have to be answered, I guess.
[00:15:15] Now another thing we already touched on was recycling and reusing stuff. You know, we talked about refilling your bottles with water. A lot of that stuff can be used with food storage too. I know that me personally, I've got a way that I work through my clothes.
[00:15:34] You know, I buy them new. I wear them out to places and then I start wearing them to work and they get dirtier and dirtier and they go further down the list. You know what I mean?
[00:15:42] But you don't throw those out just because you get a stain on them. Those are now your work pants. Those are... I think most people with common sense know that and do similar types of stuff.
[00:15:55] But I mean there's a lot of ways that you can recycle and reuse the stuff you already have to make it stretch a little bit further. That sounds right. One of my favorite being cheap moves is going to thrift stores. I'll buy sometimes work...
[00:16:15] I know it works for exercise equipment. Oh yeah, right? Everybody buys that on January 3rd when they make their resolution and then stops using it three weeks later. I mean that's one of the big things.
[00:16:29] Turns out you can exercise and work out and get in shape and it doesn't really have to cost you anything. Yeah, it's free. You can do push-ups and sit-ups and go running.
[00:16:37] I know, but the app is like $20 a month for me to get fit, but it doesn't have to be. Right. Turns out, you know... That stuff's all free on the internet. It's really free if you look out there, right? And that's the thing.
[00:16:52] Turns out we could all just eat less, move around more. And the beauty is if you're not drinking alcohol, you're saving money. You're not drinking the bougie coffee from Starbucks. You're saving money that you could be buying more preps with.
[00:17:08] Well, I mean, we're talking about some drastic stuff here. Right, right. We want to live. I mean, it is all about freedom and thriving, right? Yeah, yeah. One of my other favorite spots is yard sales and garage sales.
[00:17:25] I have an issue with about 15 propane tanks in my garage, and every time I see one at a yard sale, I grab it. You're like, I could have 16. And it might look like trash, but you can just take it and trade it in.
[00:17:39] They'll just give you a brand new one. It's fine. They will give you a brand new one. And that's the thing. If you go get your tanks refilled or even the right place to exchange them, again, it's all about time, right?
[00:17:51] You trade money for time, and that's the thing. You always have to decide what's more important to you. And if you have time, you can go to the right guy. I know they have specials on like, oh, if you come on a Tuesday morning between 10 and
[00:18:04] 5, we'll fill your propane tank for 15 bucks. And Kevin brings 16 of them. And he's like, I'm here. Let's do it. Yeah, yep. And then they can't have those sales anymore. Yeah, well, you ruined it. He ruins it for everybody, and that's what happens.
[00:18:20] All right, you got anything else you want to touch on? Well, so I think the other thing that I would really like to see, like I said, it's training. I saw you had in your notes first aid. A lot of that stuff, they offer those classes for free.
[00:18:36] You can get out and really learn to protect. You can bring value. And another thing is networking with people. And if you network with people, you can bring other things. Hey, I'm willing to put in some time in order to get some benefit, right?
[00:18:54] And that's how it works. Maybe I could bug out on your farm. I could help you out a little bit and kind of build up some equity. Or we can work out an arrangement where you see I'm a cool hard worker and you want to, you know.
[00:19:09] But when you plan in advance, you can set up a relationship and do things. Waiting till things get bad and then showing up. Yeah, I need a free handout. I can work. Well, you and 100 other people, you know. Right, right. And that's-
[00:19:26] If you have the relationship already though, that's not an issue. That's where it can all fall apart. And you know, when people see how bad things get, they don't necessarily want to share.
[00:19:38] But when you work out and set up a relationship with people, you can really do things in advance and make it cool. And you know, that's really where you should be focusing your efforts. What else? What are you thinking?
[00:19:54] I think that pretty much covers everything I wanted to talk about. I would really circle back to focus on the library, focus on YouTube, start to learn. But think about what your priorities are, right? So food and shelter.
[00:20:11] And what I mean by that, you're probably not leaving your house unless you're setting up a bug out location. If you're setting up a bug out location, you need to set those relationships up now. However, if you're hunkering down where you are, guess what?
[00:20:25] You don't need a bunch of camping supplies. That's not what you're going to need. You're going to need to be able to keep warm. You're going to need to be able to find water and get clean water. You're going to need to have some rice and food.
[00:20:38] You're going to need to be able to cook that food. Think of the priorities. All right, if the electricity is out, how am I going to cook the food? Well it turns out you can build a pretty cool little rocket stove with a couple of bricks.
[00:20:51] You don't need to buy the fancy metal, you know, whatever. There are cheap stoves. You can buy online for really next to nothing. But it turns out you can also build something if you check out the internet.
[00:21:05] You don't need to buy camp cookware because you have plates and silverware in your house, you know, but you need to find a way to deal with these things. You are going to have to find a way to defend yourself.
[00:21:18] And maybe that means organizing with some of your friends or your neighbors or, you know, figuring that out. Like I said, hopefully at a minimum, you know, you can work out some kind of shotgun or something along that line.
[00:21:31] If that's not an option, you need to network with people, you know, safety in numbers and hopefully one of those people can figure that out, you know, if you can't provide that. But maybe you can bring something else to the table.
[00:21:46] I know my work, I get different things. I have access to pallets, I have access to, you know, different things like that. And you know, that has value to somebody and you can trade and barter those items.
[00:22:01] And it turns out in some of the free states, you can actually trade for firearms. That's a thing. Yeah, it is. You can't do that in a lot of states. But you can in some and that kind of thing still exists.
[00:22:14] So, you know, obviously you would follow all the appropriate laws where you live. Right. But you might be able to make a deal. And it's really easy to cross state lines in this country. So I'm convinced another just don't cross back over those lines, you know? Yeah. Yeah.
[00:22:32] And that's really what you should be thinking about is, hey, I live in a state where I can't have a firearm to protect myself, Chuck, or at least not one that I feel I could really protect my home with. And maybe you need to move. Yeah.
[00:22:46] Do you ever think about that? Yeah, possibility. Maybe you can even, you know, I mean, hey, I heard about $29 plane tickets from New York, from Schenectady, New York to Raleigh, North Carolina. Really? So I'm just saying $29. That's not too shabby.
[00:23:03] You can beat shit out of communist New York. I'm just saying you could keep your options open and that's something you might be able to do. I'm just saying. Another thing, though, when you're working on a budget, and we talk about going to the
[00:23:16] library and learning new things and using the internet and YouTube and all that sort of stuff. But, you know, a lot of it really comes down to are you willing to do something you've never done before? Yeah. Fuel pump went out in the car.
[00:23:30] I don't know if I can fix that. I'm here to tell you, you can fix that. I believe in you. I believe in you. You can do it. A lot of this little stuff, you know, that you have to pay somebody else to do because
[00:23:41] they know how to do it. You can learn how to do it. There's some dude on YouTube that's already done it on camera and will tell you step by step how to do it.
[00:23:51] And you can throw out so much money paying somebody else to do stuff that you're capable of doing. You just don't know that you're able to do it. That's not wrong. Another thing you might want to kick around, how about having a garden and growing your own food?
[00:24:07] Now, we did an episode way back. It was a guy in England. And where we talked about you can grow stuff on other people's land and you can grow it around town. You can find a place to do it. You can grow it on the rooftop.
[00:24:25] You can grow it in the alley next door. You can do a lot of cool things. And you're like, oh, well, Chuck, you know, gardening supplies and seeds and all that's expensive. It turns out it doesn't have to be. You know how Kevin mentioned the yard sales?
[00:24:39] You can go get the shovel. You can get the stuff at the yard sale for next to nothing if you put a little time in, right? Now, seeds, you can order tons of those like survival seed packs for like 15 bucks on eBay.
[00:24:54] You can get everything you need to grow. Now, you're not going to have everything. It's not going to be the best thing for your climate or whatever. But I guarantee you, you can make stuff grow for about 15 bucks.
[00:25:07] Now, I know a lot of people hear this bullshit rumor about how you can't take seeds out of the vegetables from the grocery store because it'll never work. You know, it won't grow. Genetically modified food is terrible.
[00:25:23] And these seeds, no, you can actually plant that stuff and it will grow. You just have to make sure that you're not living in Minnesota and trying to grow avocados because that's not going to work out.
[00:25:33] You need to stick with the stuff that will actually grow in your area. But I mean, that's stuff you're already buying anyway. You know what I mean? You're throwing these seeds in the garbage every day acting like seeds are expensive. Asshole, don't throw them out. That's it.
[00:25:49] It's not that big of a deal. It's not that difficult to do. And the truth is you can just stick a seed in a little bit of dirt and pour some water on it and it's going to grow.
[00:25:57] You don't have to buy compost and build garden beds and do all this other bullshit. And it's fun to do. It's fine. And maybe your crops will be a little bit bigger if you get the real expensive miracle growths for the stuff. But it's going to grow anyway.
[00:26:15] It'll grow in dirt everywhere. The whole world is covered in dirt. You can plant this stuff anywhere and it'll grow. That's what seeds do. So you might get better at it over time, but you don't have to have special skills to grow stuff.
[00:26:30] Just take the food that you're already eating from the grocery store and plant it in the yard and that's it. That's it. It's that easy. Another thing you can learn foraging. Turns out stuff is growing out there that you can eat right now that you don't even
[00:26:48] have to pay for. Yeah. It's all around you. But if you go by somebody's farm and you see all that stuff out there, that shit's all covered in pesticides. Don't even bother. Just move on. I wouldn't even bother with that.
[00:27:01] But you can grow your own and you can make it happen. It's the stuff other people aren't eating that you want to check out. And yeah, watch out for all those pesticides. So if they're using the Roundup, you don't want to get in there. I'm all in, man.
[00:27:16] I'm all in. You're killing me. I already got the cancer. I already got the tumors growing inside me. You feel it. It's thriving. You feel it in your veins. Energy and power. Energy and power. That's what it's all about. So that's what I got.
[00:27:29] You know, I just wanted you guys to check out something different and realize it doesn't have to be the bougie stuff. It doesn't have to be, you know, all the fancy things that cost a ton of money. You can do it cool.
[00:27:46] And that way you have the extra money to buy your Survival and Basic Badass t-shirts, go to Prepper Camp. You need to save your money for those things. You know, the things that really matter like a cool t-shirt. That's what's important. You can get those at survivalandbasicbadasspodcast.com.
[00:28:04] I'm just saying. Click on gear and then right over to it. You might even just say like shop. I don't know. Whatever. There's probably a way to get there. That's all I'm saying. So anyway, you guys want to see me in person in September.
[00:28:19] We'll be at Prepper Camp. I'll be at Prepper Camp. I don't know if Kevin. Yeah. See if we can guilt him. Still on the fence a little bit. On the fence trying to guilt him. So you might want to get in on that.
[00:28:31] So the cool thing is you might have noticed me and Kevin are in the same room. That's right. That's why it's exciting. Broadcast not so live from New York. That's right. Turns out we came out. We got together.
[00:28:47] Thought we'd do a live show finally and then I was like live. That sounds stressful. I didn't want to do it. So what's going on in the world Kevin before we wrap this up? Well, there are a couple of little news stories I was touching on.
[00:29:05] So really you had something about YouTube, right? Yeah. Yeah. So there's a thing called Mukbang which I've never heard about this. This is new for me. Very excited. It's like learning about furries for the first time. You know what I mean?
[00:29:19] It's like a whole new world is opening up to me. But it's basically where people just cram food in their face on camera live. Just as much shit as they can shovel in and eat in one sitting.
[00:29:32] If we're prepping on a budget, we probably don't have a lot of extra food. No. This is like 40 hamburgers from McDonald's type of food. Could you get a sponsor maybe? This is 15 dozen. I don't know man. I don't know if Dunkin Donuts would support...
[00:29:46] I don't know how many donuts I could eat live on YouTube even if Dunkin was backing me up here. Alright. I mean I'm willing to give it a try. I saw this girl, she had three dozen Dunkin Donut boxes and she was just slaying them. Can't be good.
[00:30:04] No, it's not good for your health. And I see pictures of the people that started it and then like 10 years later and they gained 300 pounds. You know, like they're a reasonable person. And then just doing this shit over and over again. They're committed, huh? Or like grotesque.
[00:30:18] But yeah, the girl just killed herself. Ate herself to death on YouTube live. So that and Tide Pods. No. No. Okay. So yeah, apparently her intestines burst. She just crammed too much shit in there. Her intestines burst open and she died on camera. So I mean...
[00:30:37] That doesn't sound good for anybody. No. No. That doesn't sound good for the person that has to clean up that mess either. Oof. Oof. Oof. El Mayo just got arrested. He turned himself in. El Mayo? The mayonnaise? The mayonnaise, yeah. El Chapo's son. Oh, yep.
[00:30:55] He just turned himself in. He actually... First, they said that he had told his compadre that they were just going to take a trip to look at real estate. And he actually flew to the United States. But more and more is coming out.
[00:31:10] That's not at all what happened. They beat the shit out of him, tied him up, put a bag over his head, and threw him on the plane and forced him to go with him.
[00:31:19] Sometimes you bang your head into the wall, you fall down the stairs, and put yourself on the plane. Uh-huh. Sometimes that happens. That happens. It could have been that way. But he turned himself in and was hoping to get a reduced sentence by bringing somebody
[00:31:35] else with him, I guess. There is a $5 million reward for this guy. And I am almost positive El Mayo is never going to get any of that money. That's wrong. So, what are you going to do? They never pay that money out.
[00:31:52] By the way, if you ever think about turning somebody in for the cash, they never give you that money. They just keep that shit. They say they're going to give it to you. I would want the money. They don't. Remember Osama Bin Laden?
[00:32:02] They had $25 million on his head. You know who they paid that to? Nobody. Not the guy that turned him in. He went to jail, actually. So, I mean, that didn't work out for him at all. Joke's on you! Get that. Sorry, buddy. $25 million, psych!
[00:32:16] And let me get the check. Hang on a minute. Just sit right there. Yeah, we're not handcuffing you just for our safety. Right, right. We're just going to handcuff you for our safety while we go get the check. Yeah, you never get that money. No. Those bastards.
[00:32:36] You know? You can't... The only way you get in that situation is by trusting the government to begin with, and that's just never... It's never a smart move, you know? No, that's not the investment you want to make. All right. You don't want to be a bounty hunter?
[00:32:51] No, that sounds like a terrible job, honestly. And the truth is I like all those people when I see them. If I had actually caught up with somebody, I'd be like, you're cool, man. Just get out of here. Just go. You go.
[00:33:05] You could even be against the law. Oh, man. But that's how it goes sometimes. So we appreciate it. Appreciate you guys sticking around. Enjoy the little after show here. Still in the episode. Hopefully that's cool. But we appreciate it. So with that, stay safe.
[00:33:23] We'll talk to you guys next week. See you next week.
