[00:00:00] I'm Erica Lynn and we all know the ocean is the most demanding environment on earth,
[00:00:05] consistently testing the reliability and durability of our equipment.
[00:00:09] When you spend as much time fishing as I do, you know that reliable gear is essential for
[00:00:12] staying on the water.
[00:00:13] This is why I went with Abyss Battery to power my Chilling Motor, Electronics, and Outboard.
[00:00:18] The guys at Abyss Battery are rattling the saltwater industry by manufacturing performance
[00:00:23] marine batteries specifically designed for sonar, outboards, chilling motors, and electronic
[00:00:27] fishing reels. Alright, welcome back to the Survival and Basic Badass Podcast. Kevin and Chuck. Today, well, we're gonna kinda dig deep into Israel and Palestine.
[00:01:41] Kinda that whole Canaan region, if you've studied a little bit of history, you'll kinda
[00:01:47] make sense of it. That's really the only way kids learn, right? Right. But it's been going on since the beginnings of human history and I don't think many of us have learned. I mean, how many times are you banging your head against the wall, Kevin? Oh, yeah. Yeah. I mean, I still do that. I'm in my 40s and I'm still doing stupid retarded things.
[00:03:05] All right.
[00:03:06] What are you going to do? religion and the Israeli and Jewish people, religion, all kind of trace back. They all claim that they come, they're descendants of have a child with Sarah and they get into that whole thing and that becomes Isaac. Right. Now, the Jews claim history up to Isaac and then Abraham, and that's the line of David. And that's when people think of the Jewish people, they're kind of jump in here. So 1300 BC that's a long time ago. That's when Moses is in Egypt, right? Now don't worry. We're gonna get modern pretty quick I just need about 10 minutes here to lay out a foundation So if you're like why didn't come here to learn about the Bible and then that's alright
[00:07:02] We're gonna get you there. Kevin has all kinds of good stuff for you
[00:08:07] for those of you who don't really follow geography and, you know, the world. But anyway, so trying to sort out so I can see what's going on. They basically,
[00:08:15] Moses starts heading there, that's around kinds of stuff going on, but we'll just keep things moving 63 BC in Rome
[00:09:42] Pompeii
[00:09:43] You know miss the Emperor but at the time 63 BCE was a general as an insult to the Jewish people, they rename it Palestine. Oh, you're seeing a play here. So we're 1300 years later, it gets named Palestine and it basically means conquered. Right. And so it was kind of supposed to be like an insult to the Jewish people like, yeah, we got you.
[00:11:03] And I mean, obviously if you're the one doing the conquering,
[00:11:06] then that's kind of a victorious name I think it's 666 something. Right. I thought I started writing it down. I don't know. I dropped the ball. Right. That starts, starts converting a lot of the Arab people. Right. We're multiple religions at this point. Right. But again, we're still going back to Abraham. So these are all genetically the same people. Right. Mm-hmm. Right. You know, obviously deviations, right?
[00:12:21] I guess genetically we can all go back to Adam and Eve.
[00:12:24] If you're going to look at it like that, right?
[00:13:23] 1897 we'll call it modern history
[00:13:31] And you know rehearsal he's a big name in this so he was basically you know Zionism had been going on for a long time Zionism is basically a national movement
[00:13:35] National movement to establish a homeland for the Jewish people in Palestine
[00:13:40] That had been going on since early 1800s
[00:14:42] everybody else and they actually like clean themselves and like washed and things like that,
[00:14:44] which most Europeans weren't really into.
[00:14:47] But you know, they, you know, anything,
[00:14:49] yeah, anything bad that happened, it was the Jews' fault.
[00:14:52] And so they just go and smash babies heads in
[00:14:55] and rape women and, you know, kill kids in front
[00:14:59] of their parents and then kill the parents
[00:15:01] and just awful, awful shit all the time.
[00:15:03] You know, your house is now my house,
[00:15:05] get the fuck out of here, you know, a lot of Arabs, a couple of Christians and a couple of Jews were already there. So the first Zionist Congress, England, and Russia against Germany and the Ottoman Empire got in there and they came in in the Middle East. So the Balfour Declaration was a public statement issued by the British government during the First World War, November 1917, announcing support for the establishment of a national home for the Jewish people in Palestine. So, so the war ends and they're like, yeah, everybody gets everything.
[00:19:04] Everybody gets all this land. the border now. It's the border now. It's not a place. Right. It was over and over again. It kind of... That's just a whole mess when we get into that. So it didn't really... I mean a few Jews moved down to Israel, but it wasn't Palestine, I should say.
[00:20:20] It wasn't Israel at the time.
[00:20:22] But most of the people in Western Europe, most of the Jews were like, well, I'm a Frenchman.
[00:20:26] I'm an Englishman. I mean, you've seen the pictures of them, like skin and bones, like really, those are the people that managed to survive, you know? Yeah. Millions of Jews were killed, millions of, I mean, it was Jews, but it was also Slavs and people with mental handicaps, it was gypsies.
[00:21:40] There weren't a whole lot of Africans there.
[00:21:42] There were a lot less Africans there in Europe started attacking Jewish settlements. Then everybody like decided like join it. So Lebanon sent an army down, Syria sent an army in, Iraq sent an army in, Egypt sent an army in, Saudi Arabia sent an army to
[00:23:01] be controlled by you know Egyptian military. how it works. Yeah, there you go. So that's basically what happened there to get the state we're in right now. The people that lived in Israel were basically pushed out.
[00:24:22] And there were a lot of conflicts.
[00:24:25] As the Jews started moving into Israel, there for a second or not really. Well I mean it's really just how many who kills the most people. Right there you go now you're understanding how the world works. Yeah that's been going on for for thousands of years. You know that's the whole argument though like you go well yeah but the Indians what about the tribes that they kicked out that were there before them and it kind of
[00:25:41] is an endless cycle. Bottom line it's who's got the biggest guns kind ends up with the land. Palestinian Liberation Organization. Do you know this, Kevin? The PLO, you have an insight here? They were calling for the elimination of Israel. That's kind of actually where that, what is it, from the river to the sea cash, we're just good. Like we're gonna kind of leave Israel alone and we'll stay out of it. We got our big pyramids and everything. We're giving tours. Who knows what gold we're finding underneath. It's like cold. Everything's working out. They're super into Christian tourists,
[00:28:23] but they're not super into Christians like being there and living there. You know what I mean?
[00:29:29] There was this president, we'll call him, in the 80s after Reagan called George Bush. Now you're thinking the fun cowboy W. Not him.
[00:29:33] Not that one.
[00:29:34] Not that guy.
[00:29:35] There's another one.
[00:29:37] The CIA director, the dude was in all sorts of shady shit before he became vice president.
[00:29:44] People always think, oh well, he was the the opposite of Reagan. And he was like, you know what, let's go hang out with Yasser Arafat. The Jewish people, the prime minister of Israel came out and was like, you know what, we're going to give you tons of stuff. We're going to give you whatever you want. And this is later right after, because the first time they tried to negotiate with
[00:31:01] Yasser Arafat at Camp David with George Bush if they were going to bury Yasser Arafat in Jerusalem and the Israelis were basically like,
[00:33:27] Let me put my k bar in my teeth while I and you got to remember I think really where
[00:33:31] Where the whole
[00:33:35] Jewish
[00:33:41] Superiority when it comes to what I mean, I don't mean Jewish forces are superior to the rest of the world Whatever what I'm saying is
[00:33:44] often over and over again in history, they're greatly outnumbered and
[00:34:45] Another thing that you have to take into account here is, these are the same people. So if you're all the same descendants, Arabic or Jewish, it's not that hard to sneak in
[00:34:53] and grow up and be that guy.
[00:34:56] Right.
[00:34:57] And like Russia, the Israeli people are typically known for starting out young.
[00:35:05] Oh, you're really the New York Times did report on it. And generally speaking, they have pretty good sources.
[00:36:23] But, you know, that shit happens.
[00:36:26] Yeah, there you go.
[00:36:27] Well, that's the thing be like, I want to go to Nazareth and see where Jesus was born. Yeah, I want to go to Jerusalem and see.
[00:37:40] Yeah, go to Bethlehem and touch the stone.
[00:37:42] Yeah.
[00:37:44] They got this little piece and they're like, you could touch right there.
[00:37:47] Right there is where... to the Jews that were crucified next to Jesus on either side, right? Well, because they had the guy they pardoned. Remember, he's like, I'm going to let one guy free. Barbara's Jesus. That is. Yeah, that sounds right. So so how did they figure out which was Jesus's cross and which was the other ones? Well, they killed killed three slaves and nailed them onto the cross.
[00:39:04] OK. And the one that came back to life.
[00:39:06] Yeah, the real cross.
[00:39:08] That's the snail. And this is the actual like slab they laid them out on and these this was muslim owned at the time And they're like hey you got cash. We're all about jesus. Yep, it right here Jason's right play tonight. You respect jesus as a as a prophet in a teacher. It's not Anti jesus down right right?
[00:40:21] And you know and you're like well a jewish jesus. I mean the jews they actually you don't even want to know what they did to jesus
[00:41:27] come to mind and they're like, but what you got to remember is you just don't like religious people and it turns out
[00:41:36] Jesus may have had a problem with some religious people too. It turns out you know, they weren't actually good to Jesus
[00:41:39] Mm-hmm in in the church. I mean, I'm just saying
[00:43:01] Also, I seem to remember something about a temple and tables flipping over like all the Pez dispenser It was curly like a black person's hair. Smart. He said it was like, well, so it's not really. No, he was given a color comparison. Yeah. And nobody described what Jesus looked like. And the idea that we have no idea what people in Israel looked like at that time is ridiculous. No idea. There's multiple paintings of people that lived in that area at that time.
[00:43:05] And Jesus probably did not have blonde hair and blue eyes.
[00:44:21] Probably had had olive skin. like knowing how politics work, what got in there, what didn't, you know, you have these missing books and all these things. I mean, I'm sure there's lots of things. I believe it is very possible that God spoke and said things and people wrote it down and it's possible that those aren't in the Bible. Like there are other things.
[00:44:22] There are other books, right?
[00:44:24] You know, there's a, Judas actually wrote a book.
[00:44:27] Yes. Where he said that G this was a plan that he and Jesus had worked up where he was gonna like betray him on purpose and You know that would fulfill the destiny and shit the Catholic Church said if that's real then Judas's liar ain't true so There you go weird stuff now a lot of people talk about whatever I call somebody a liar. I'm like you Judas
[00:45:43] Yes, oh you're seeing his drag. Yep, right. Yeah, so
[00:46:45] Lightning at that time shoot lightning out of his out of his eyes and and kill everybody when it turned out that wasn't his thing
[00:46:51] That's when Judas betrayed him and a lot of people miss that little part of the Bible I mean, it's he had a reason to betray him in his own mind in his own mind
[00:46:55] Right in his own mind that was you know full of bullshit that yeah, but Kevin Kevin
[00:47:02] But is Satan not the father of lies? Did he not?
[00:47:06] See see what he did there It was always the woman that couldn't do it. It was the woman's fault. I've been saying that for... Right. So anyway, this is word for word. And I think this is where it came from in my mind. So remember, this is not Ishmael and Isaac. This is Isaac's two children.
[00:48:22] And that's what we'll get into it. It's Esau and Jacob.
[00:48:23] But anyway, go on.
[00:48:24] So just don't like misquote history
[00:48:27] because you remember what I was like, that's it. That's, you know, how are they not going to be at war for forever when, you know, I mean, that's, I don't know. I just thought that was crazy reading that. I'm like, yeah. And that did not, I, like I said, it was in the back of my mind and just, I was like, that's, that's how it all started.
[00:49:42] You know, but I, I, after I read it again and I'm like, yeah.
[00:49:46] And then I started doing more research and up Zoroastrianism, it's interesting. It's kind of, kind of weird, but it's similar to, uh, to, to Judaism and Islam and Christianity, uh, the weird thing is that, is that Christians have, have
[00:51:05] basically, you know, three gods, right?
[00:51:07] The Trinity, they an expression of God's love. It took all I had to put together an episode just to kind of give you a timeline on the whole Jewish Palestinian history. But, you know, whatever. I'm just saying. Yeah. All right. So now that we have Muslims, Christians, and Jews pissed off at us.
[00:52:23] Okay.
[00:52:24] Yeah.
[00:52:25] Because I know we're wrong somewhere in there.
[00:52:26] Yeah.
[00:52:27] Oh, yeah.
[00:52:28] Yeah. Anyway. Both look like super racist assholes, but whatever.
[00:53:40] That's the one.
[00:53:41] That's where we'll go.
[00:53:42] All right, anyway, so you guys are wondering,
[00:53:45] what do I get for Christmas?
[00:53:46] What do I do? I think that tracks. We'll see if we can't put that together. Anyway, questions, concerns, thoughts, comments, email us at preppingbadass at gmail.com. Don't forget to like and subscribe. I appreciate all the comments and feedback you can leave us because it only helps grow
